Dr Seuss oh! The Places You’ll Go!
My dearest Komal, Anjli and Amar,
A great quote from Dr Seuss, just for you three!
Almost a month has zoomed by, we are all in our own little corners of the world and Bali seems like a dream to me. It was just wonderful to spend this long week with all of you and especially to celebrate the big birthdays. This time last year I couldn’t have imagined that 24 of the family would get together in this magical place to enjoy the big celebrations. When I embarked upon organising the trip, my biggest fear was to incorporate Grandma into it. In the end she too at her age of 90 seemed to have had a great time. All those uncles and aunts and the numerous cousins and our solitary “outsider”, all jelled brilliantly. The hot weather, the beautiful service of the lovely Balinese people, the scrumptious food, the outdoor massages and all the watersports were very relaxing. I returned so relaxed that I am finding it very difficult to resume my routine. This letter being the biggest hurdle.
I have attached some of our best memories of the time.
Today I have also included a recipe of Pav Bhaji which I would love you to try out. Pav being the toasted rolls and Bhaji, the spiced mixed vegetables..I know, I know..you know! In India it is well known as a great street food. Its a great quick meal to make at the end of a working day. Like all cooking, a little bit of planning will go a long way. I will post some more dishes for you to make, so keep a look out for these. Please do let me know how you get on with the recipe.
With all my love, hugs and kisses,
Vishfully yours,
Mum
